“We learn with and from each other. In a knowledge network of colleagues, students, and companies.”

- Berry, docent ICT and Media Design

Before this, I worked as a freelance designer for several large companies. I became a teacher because I want to share my knowledge with young people, and because I want to continue to develop myself.

Developments are moving very quickly. Faster than I expected, and faster than I can keep up with on my own. Fortunately, this isn’t necessary. We learn from each other. Together, we’re a wide knowledge network. Of colleagues, students, and companies. Old-fashioned teaching is no longer an option. As Fontys, we’re rapidly changing from an educational institution to a knowledge institution. For example, we now do a lot more research on the feasibility of automatic news editing.

I don’t teach. I help, support, and inspire. I’m really happy when I see students develop their own products to a higher level. That’s super cool.
