- Pascal, teacher of ICT and Technology

That’s right. I switched from intermediate vocational education to higher vocational education because the issues are much more challenging, and the students look into things more deeply. In first year already, I worked with them to develop, for example, automated pancake makers, delivery robots, and cradle-swing robots. Really cool stuff, and totally out of our comfort zones and way off the beaten path.

It feels more like working in a company. Just like my colleagues, I sometimes hear prejudices about short days and long holidays. That’s nonsense. If there’s a project with potential, anything is possible. You can always count on other teachers and students to help you with it.

The variety in my job confirms to me time and again that I made the right choice. Here I experience different topics and other ways of transferring and sharing knowledge. I also learn from my students.

The best thing that can happen to me as a teacher is a student who after a while says: “I thought I would find this course boring, but this was a great day and we made great things.” That’s what I do it for. And not for the days off ;-)
